I’d totally write this too, but not really mean it.

I would expect him to read my mind, if we must be honest — but if he’s way off the mark from what I was thinking, I’m not going to hamstring him. I’d rather take that opportunity to communicate clearly and thank him for the empathy he used when he “read my mind”.
